The underlying premise for this blog is can there be someone who can have it all. I am not talking about some beer contest or some 10wicket haul in a test . I am talking about the most sought after and the most ideal and the most fantacised dreams on the planet.
Well its like poking into a beehive. As they say "Hazaaron Khwaahishen Aisi" Asking someone what is his ultimate dream or what is his ultimate lifetime moment can be a bit tricky to answer. It might take a few more blogs to clearly figure that out. But I wont do it.
So lets make the task easy. Its time to make you introduce to our 4 characters - Leo , Bill , Sheikh and Him.
Now before I proceed further inevitably we have to make an assumption : that meaning of life is somewhat narrowed to few things like - power , name , fame , love of your life , most beautiful partner(no love relationship is expected in this case), globe trotting etc etc. I mean to say as LIFE has got different meanings to a cocaine addict and to a priest, in my case life has got only few meanings ,which I have mentioned just a few lines above.
So lets begin our journey as to who out of Leo , Bill , Sheikh and Him will have it all. Have all the money in the world , have the most truly loving partner with him , have the most sought after beautiful lady as his muse , have the maximum power and international celebrity status and have the most remembered name on the planet when it comes to recall by the majority from the history. Of course that would be a moment into the future.
So beginning with Leo , who is an international celebrity and has dated almost the top models on the planet , some from Brazil , some from US and some from Europe. He has the international name and fame. But he's not got all that money and all that power which would make him top the list and beat the other three contestants.He has had no serious relationships so far also. But he probably could stand for presidential elections due to his popularity and may even win it some day.That would leave him with two more tasks , that is to gain the greatest fortunes possible in the world and to visit almost all the sought after super cities in the world. But to gain all the wealth he's gotta be the Sheikh of Brunei or Dubai or he's gotta be the founder of a fortune 500 company like Bill is. Even that is possible but again it is way too difficult. And then what about finding a true love.
So in a way even he could not have it all.
Now I guess I made my point quite clear. I will not go into the details and reveal whether Bill and Sheikh are able to achieve the feat or did they ever achieve it.
But before ending my note , I would bring your attention towards our forth character Him.
Here Him represents all the capable men at the middle and bottom of the pyramid. What about them. Are they capable enough to achieve all this in a lifetime. Do they have it in them. Or are they allowed to aim for such feat. And what if a few make there. What about rest of the millions. Hence as Maslow way back told about the hierarchy , he forgot to mention that the system and eco-sociological balance is such that not all can go through the entire hierarchy and hence it always would leave with the question.........................................

Pretty neat. I like the model that you established at the beginning of your discourse. However, we must understand as you agree in your essay that each individual has his own set of entities that defines the word 'all' for him. If we agree to this fact, then it becomes evident that 'all' is not as it is defined in the lexicon. Hence if, and that's again a very big if, someone defines 'all' for himself in a way that eventually, i.e. before he dies, attains 'all' that he wants, it makes HIM the ONE who has it all.
ReplyDeleteArthur Schopenhauer might beg to disagree to what I've said and I must confess his logic has a much stronger premise than what I can ever develop. However, it's a thought that I found worth sharing with you.
